BV

Bureau Veritas was founded in 1828 and is an international group specialized in the inspection, analysis, audit and certification of products and management systems in relation to regulatory or voluntary standards. From our marine division we develop our own rules to grant the safety on board of the vessels. Flags trust BV to act on their behalf on statutory affaires.

Role in APOLO project:

The role of Bureau Veritas in the APOLO project is primarily to analyse the current regulatory framework for the use of ammonia on board, to identify any gaps and develop amendments if necessary. Additionally, Bureau Veritas will collaborate with the other partners, contributing with our experience on board ships, in the use of low-flashpoint fuels, as well as the handling of ammonia on board, and providing our technical expertise.
